GE15: “BN and PN are running out of time and we are out of patience”
[Image: ptj02-19102022-spr-2699821-2022101919050...122801.jpg]

THE only way out of the mess the country is in at present – which is an accumulation of almost 60 years of continued abuse and mismanagement of the country’s resources – is for the rakyat to vote for the least corrupted coalition to govern this country for the next five years.

It is about the consequences for the future of our children and grandchildren.

It is a kind of shocking self-belief of Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) to gloat about their “great track record” of running the country for decades.

Both BN and PN are out of time and ideas and the rakyat is out of patience.

[Image: 27022022_-_Calon_MUDA_DUN_Puteri_Wangsa_...HMAN_7.JPG]

PETALING JAYA – The electoral pact negotiations between Muda and Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the upcoming 15th general election (GE15) are nearing completion, said the youth-based party’s election director.

Amira Aisya Abd Aziz, who is also Muda deputy president, explained that the negotiations were centred on the “(fewer) than 15 seats” requested by her party to contest in the coming national polls.

“We have asked for (fewer) than 15 seats, they are about 70% completed but I would like to stress that there is no issue of incumbency here. The rest are just overlapping (seats),” she said to the press after the conclusion of a meeting with PH’s committee on seat negotiations today at the PKR headquarters here.

GE15: Khalid Samad to contest in Titiwangsa
[Image: khalid-samad-kampung-baru-160422-2.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: Amanah’s Khalid Samad is Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate for the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat in the general election (GE15).

Amanah election director Asmuni Awi confirmed Khalid’s nomination, describing it as a “big sacrifice”.

“Khalid will face a fierce battle in Titiwangsa. However, his excellent record as (former) federal territories minister could ensure PH wins in Titiwangsa,” he said in a statement.

Khalid was the Shah Alam MP before the dissolution of Parliament. He held the seat for three terms.

Noting that it was not an easy decision for Khalid to leave Shah Alam given his track record in the constituency, Asmuni said it was a necessary decision for PH to prove its competitiveness in GE15.

PETALING JAYA: Amanah has identified a fresh candidate to contest the Shah Alam parliamentary seat in the 15th general election, replacing its former MP Khalid Samad.

Khalid, who is Amanah communications director, hinted that the candidate was from the party grassroots and among the party’s up-and-coming leaders.

“I am very particular about Shah Alam and I will not surrender the seat to someone I do not believe in,” he told reporters when met outside the PKR headquarters here.

“The candidate who has been identified is someone from the grassroots, someone who has been in Shah Alam even before I was the MP.

Umno stuck and not making headway, says Chin Tong
[Image: Liew-Chin-Tong-DAP-bernama-1.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: DAP strategist Liew Chin Tong believes Umno is stuck and has not made political headway since Parliament was dissolved earlier this month, with infighting and voters’ fear of Ahmad Zahid Hamidi becoming prime minister among the reasons.

He said voters may have been put off by Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s decision to dissolve Parliament despite the possibility of monsoon floods.

Other reasons for Umno’s failure to make headway were the perception of Umno as a source of instability and the party’s lack of funds for the election campaign.

Liew said voters did not appreciate Umno’s push for the elections, out of their own interests, despite the warnings of possible floods.

Clash with BN in 27 ‘critical’ seats inevitable, says Bersatu man
[Image: Wan-Saiful-Wan-Jan-Bersatu-1.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: A clash between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in 27 parliamentary seats in the 15th general election is inevitable, a Bersatu leader said.

Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan said this was because BN linchpin Umno refused to negotiate with PN.

“We must remember that the cause of (potential) clashes and divisions stems from Umno’s refusal to discuss seat allocation,” Wan Saiful told FMT.

GE15: High chance for Nizar Najib to be BN’s candidate in Pekan
[Image: NIZAR-1.jpg]

IT is an open secret that there is a dwindling chance for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as the incumbent Pekan MP, to defend his seat in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15), pending any decision for a royal pardon.

It is also not much of a secret that Najib’s eldest son Datuk Mohd Nizar Najib is the prime candidate to take over his father’s Pekan seat and keep the family’s legacy intact.

For the uninitiated, former prime minister Najib has been the Pekan MP since 1976. Pekan has been held by the family since 1959, first with Najib’s father, second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, and then by Najib on Abdul Razak’s demise (except for one term from 1982–1986 when Najib was menteri besar of Pahang).

Further fuelling speculation, administrators for Najib’s official Facebook page recently shared a video of Nizar vowing to continue his father’s service in Pekan, while also sharing his career move into joining active politics.
