PETALING JAYA: Former Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa has urged all parties to stop questioning Anwar Ibrahim’s appointment as the prime minister, saying it is a done deal.

In a Facebook post, Annuar said the focus must now be on forming a government that was capable of fulfilling its responsibility in serving the people and nation.

“At this time, there is also a need for not only national unity but also national reconciliation. (It is time to) stop all disputes, and to strengthen cooperation instead.

“This is a healing process that can restore the nation’s formidability in facing economic, social and global political challenges,” the Ketereh Umno chief said.

Probe PN candidate over ‘govt of adultery’ remark, cops urged
Posted by: superadmin - 11-29-2022, 02:26 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

PETALING JAYA: PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil has urged the police to investigate Perikatan Nasional’s candidate in Padang Serai, Azman Nasrudin, for allegedly calling the unity government a “government of adultery”.

In a Twitter post, the Lembah Pantai MP also urged Azman to return his Datukship that was awarded by the sultan of Kedah in June.

“It is rude of Azman to label the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s unity government as a ‘government of adultery’. He must return the award given and stop using his ‘Datuk’ title.

“(Azman’s remark) is an insult to the sultan of Kedah, who was with the Malay rulers to discuss the appointment of the 10th prime minister. He must be investigated,” he said.

Anwar orders cops to probe into ‘out of line’ slanderous, racist remarks

KUALA LUMPUR – Police have been instructed by newly minted prime minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to investigate those who went overboard in hurling baseless accusations and issuing slanderous statements that threaten the country’s harmony.

PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil said this was relayed to Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders by Anwar himself during the PH presidential council meeting today.

“We draw the line when there are elements of slander, such as accusations of being an Israeli agent. He (Anwar) has asked police to take action.

“As such, I once again request for all Malaysians to respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s decree for everyone to be united, for the sake of our beloved Malaysia.

Onus now on Muhyiddin to bare all the source of his political funding
Posted by: superadmin - 11-28-2022, 03:01 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

BESIDES his arrogance and rudeness, Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin must explain source of his political funding.

His former aide Datuk Dr Marzuki Mohamad has sought to clear the events that transpired in the national palace about the unity government.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong had invited both Muhyiddin and Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim – at different times – to discuss the possibility of forming a unity government.

The meeting was first held with Muhyiddin. In the meeting, according to Marzuki, Muhyiddin was not agreeable to form a unity government with PH.

Since unity government was not part of the mandate given by those who supported PN, Muhyiddin was not agreeable.

So, too, was the PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang. The Bersatu president even signed an “agreement” prepared by the national palace which contained the provision of prime minister (PM) by rotation.

Ban PAS for spreading hatred, lies: S’gor Amanah lawmaker

SHAH ALAM – PAS should be banned for spreading hatred, misinformation and refusing to adhere to campaigning rules set by the Election Commission, said a Selangor assemblyman.

Taman Templer state assemblyman Mohd Sany Hamzan said at the Selangor Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday that PAS had got away scot-free conducting talks containing untrue allegations during the recent election campaign.

“They won (seats in) the election due to (spreading) slander not at night, but during the day,” Sany said.

“It is said that we Pakatan Harapan (PH) are communist and that we want to dissolve the federal constitution, that we are anti-monarchy, we are anti-Islam.

‘Stupid, liberal’ Malay-Muslim leaders cannot mask DAP’s Islamophobia: Hadi
Posted by: superadmin - 11-28-2022, 02:48 PM - Forum: Politics - Replies (1)

KUALA LUMPUR – PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has accused DAP of spreading Islamophobic narratives, taking aim at the Islamist party following its success in the national polls (GE15).

In his latest tirade against the Pakatan Harapan (PH) component party, Hadi said DAP was “creedless and immoral”, claiming that the party is now “showing its true colours” for the sake of its own political expediency.

“This is made evident when they (DAP) openly slander Islam, especially (with attacks against) PAS (because of) PAS’ progress in GE15, where we managed to secure the highest number of (federal) seats among all individual parties, including DAP and other parties in PH,” he said in a statement today.

PAS won a shocking 44 parliamentary seats in GE15, while DAP secured 40 in the national elections.

No ‘court cluster MPs’ in Anwar’s cabinet, please: Bersih
Posted by: superadmin - 11-28-2022, 02:43 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: 23112022_-_Zahid_hamidi_keluar_Istana_-_Alif_Omar_1.jpg]

KUALA LUMPUR – The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections (Bersih) today objected to the appointment of any lawmakers with ongoing criminal cases to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s cabinet.

In a statement today, the organisation raised its concern with suggestions by certain parties to push for Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is facing corruption charges, to be given the post of deputy prime minister.

“Bersih strongly objects to the appointment of any person who has an ongoing criminal case against him/her to any cabinet position, as they would raise doubts about the integrity of Anwar’s government and tarnish the reputation of our country,'” said Bersih.

Wanita DAP pledges support for sole Pakatan rep in Perlis state assembly
Posted by: superadmin - 11-27-2022, 02:58 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

GEORGE TOWN – Wanita DAP has pledged its support for PKR’s Indera Kayangan assemblyman Gan Ay Ling who is the sole Pakatan Harapan (PH) representative in the 15-member state legislative assembly in Perlis.

Its chairman Chong Eng, a veteran women activist, said DAP is worried that Gan may be “bullied” in Perlis because she is the sole opposition member, a female, and the only elected representative of Chinese origin.

“There is nothing sinister here. We are just worried about whether Gan can find the necessary support. Perikatan Nasional (PN) won Perlis on the back of a controversial and aggressive campaign to woo the Malay sentiments. In the past, politicians shunned such aggressive stances but now, there is without a doubt a rise of right-leaning politics.”

No more extravagance: Anwar assures lean cabinet, appointments free of political plac
Posted by: superadmin - 11-27-2022, 02:55 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: 27112022_-_PM_Anwar_Ibrahim_Mesyuarat_Kh...TIF_11.JPG]

PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the federal cabinet appointments will not be made simply to placate “political masters” but rather on aligned values of good governance and against corruption.

Stressing that the cabinet will be much leaner than that of the previous administration, the Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman said he is in the midst of discussing with members of other coalitions in the “unity government” on the appointments.

Anwar referred to the previous administration under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, which was replaced by one led by Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. The cabinet under both leaders consisted of some 70 ministers and several special envoys, which he labelled as “extravagant”.

“I want to reduce the size of the cabinet. I don’t want to continue this extravagant manner of employing or appointing ministers as a point of reward,” he said.
