The prime minister’s appointment after GE15 – Tommy Thomas
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 09:20 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

THE consensus among poll-watchers is that it will be a close outcome after the ballots are counted and results announced this weekend: a finish too close to call.

But what happens if none of the coalitions crosses the magic line of 112 seats? How would the new prime minister be appointed?

The critical point to keep in mind is that the new prime minister must represent the popular will. He must enjoy the mandate of voters who just expressed their choice in the ballot box.

The legal position is clear.

Article 43(2)(a) of the federal constitution provides that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong shall first appoint a prime minister who is a Dewan Rakyat member, “who in his judgement is likely to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the Dewan”.

KUALA LUMPUR – Jailed former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his entourage comprising family members spent US$259,724 at the Trump Hotel in Washington D.C., with the Malaysian leader splashing US$10,000 per night on the presidential suite, documents by accounting firm Mazars USA LLP showed.

The US House Committee on Oversight and Reform, which released the documents yesterday, made note of the fact Najib’s stay at the hotel owned by former US president Donald Trump was from September 7 to 15, 2017, during which time Najib was publicly under investigation by the US Department of Justice (DoJ) over funds stolen and laundered from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) through US financial institutions.

“Prime Minister (Najib) Razak stayed in the hotel’s presidential suite for $10,000 per night, spending $44,562 over three days.

100L single-layer glass reactor working principle and operating instructions
Posted by: zzkdinstruments - 11-15-2022, 05:16 PM - Forum: Technology - No Replies

The 100L single-layer glass reactor is easy to use and easy to operate. It can be moved, operated, cleaned, installed and disassembled by one person, and can perform various stirring reactions. Due to its convenient use, safety and quickness, the reaction kettle is widely used in many fields such as modern chemical industry, biopharmaceuticals, new material synthesis and so on. The reactor is designed with high borosilicate glass, which has excellent physical and chemical properties.
The working principle of the 100L single-layer glass reactor: The single-layer glass reactor directly heats the reactor body through a layer of silver film heating plate, so that the materials in the reactor can be kept at a constant temperature and can be stirred. The material is reacted in the reactor, and the evaporation and reflux of the reaction solution can be controlled. The reaction material is put in the reaction kettle, and the stirring reaction can be done by vacuuming; the external water (oil) bath can be heated by adding water or heating oil; and can control the evaporation and reflux of the reaction solution, constant pressure feeding and other functions. Optional refrigeration components, with refrigeration source for low temperature reaction
100L single-layer glass reactor installation and operation instructions Notes:
1. The power connection must meet the power requirements of this product, and must have a reliable grounding to ensure that the shell of this product has a safe grounding. Glass instruments should avoid impact during transportation, disassembly, cleaning and use. After unpacking, you should first check whether there is any damage. If you find any damage, immediately contact the relevant departments to find out the reasons and negotiate remedies. The company shall not be liable for any damages caused by product defects due to the fault of sales, storage, transportation, assembly and users.
2. For the precious solution, a simulated process experiment should be done first, and when it is confirmed that the equipment can meet the process requirements, it will be transferred to normal use.
3. When evaporating easy, explosive and toxic solutions, users must take corresponding safety protection measures and abide by relevant safety operation regulations.
4. Prevent the electrical parts from being immersed in water and leaking electricity. When installing the conduit (rubber) on the glass parts, the rotating assembly method should be adopted, and the pressing method is prohibited to damage the glass parts.
5. Before the experiment, a simulation plan should be drawn up, and the experiment should be carried out step by step according to the plan. The equipment should be sealed and tested, and then the program test should be carried out after confirmation. The sample should be added slowly when feeding. Pay attention to the reaction state of the material during the experiment. Emergency measures should be taken when necessary. When shutting down, first turn off the vacuum source and low temperature heat source, and then turn off the power supply. Release the vacuum to restore the equipment to normal pressure. Release experimental materials by variety. Clean the equipment for the next use.

After 2 years, PAS emerges as ‘true power’ in PN
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 02:50 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: Muhyiddin-Yassin_Abdul-Hadi-Awang_PN-2782022-12.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin will not be able to stop Perikatan Nasional ally PAS from working with Umno and Barisan Nasional after the general election, says an analyst.

“The real power in PN has emerged. It’s PAS,” Council of Professors fellow Jeniri Amir told FMT.

“Muhyiddin is in no position to dictate what PAS can or cannot do. He has no bargaining power. Bersatu just has to follow what PAS wants.”

He was commenting on Muhyiddin’s statement that PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has no authority to hold discussions with BN about forming the government with PN after GE15.

Pence: ‘I think we’ll have better choices in the future’ than Trump
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 11:34 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: merlin_208934583_71a89611-5514-4785-98e7...&auto=webp]

CNN  — Former Vice President Mike Pence said in a newly released interview clip that he and his family are giving “prayerful consideration” to whether he should run for president in 2024 and that the US will have “better choices in the future” than former President Donald Trump.

Asked by ABC News’ David Muir if he believes he can defeat Trump, who is expected to announce a 2024 campaign for the White House on Tuesday, Pence replied: “Well, that would be for others to say, and it’d be for us to decide whether or not we’d want to test that.”

And asked whether he believes his former boss should serve again as president, Pence said: “I think that’s up to the American people. But I think we’ll have better choices in the future. People in this country actually get along pretty well once you get out of politics. And I think they want to see their national leaders start to reflect that same, that same compassion and generosity of spirit. And I think, so in the days ahead, I think there will be better choices.”

“And for me and my family, we will be reflecting what our roles will be in that,” he added.

“Muhyiddin, don’t forget how you were the LTTE arrests mastermind”
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 11:26 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: G-Saminathan-P-Gunasekaran-260722-1-600x375.webp]

PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s recent tirade against the DAP was uncalled for.

His accusations that the DAP was against national interests speak volumes of his desperation and intolerance.

If he did not agree with Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming that if PN comes to power, it would be Taliban in nature, then his response should have been directed at Nga. There was no need to drag and grand slam the entire DAP.

Muhyiddin, by dragging the DAP on the question of national security, had laid bare his own nefarious role in the arrest of 12 Indians, some of them DAP members, including two state assemblymen in 2019, for alleged links with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Tok Mat asked me for ‘help’ in 2019, claims Hamzah
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 11:04 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

LARUT: Home minister Hamzah Zainudin has hit back at Mohamad Hasan after the Umno deputy president told Bersatu not to “pretend to be clean”.

The Bersatu secretary-general claimed that Mohamad, also known as Tok Mat, had gone to his house in April 2019 to “ask for help”, though he refused to elaborate on this.

“If he says (Bersatu) is pretending to be clean, then I want to ask Tok Mat, did he not come to my home in April 2019 to ask for help?” Hamzah said, telling reporters to ask Mohamad for the details of the meeting.

Who will be PM after GE15?
Posted by: superadmin - 11-15-2022, 09:56 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: ismail-sabri-ahmad-zahid-hamidi-anwar-ib...1122-2.jpg]

From Lim Teck Ghee

In an earlier article, I had identified moral outrage as being the game changer in the general election.

When analysing the key factors that can influence the voter in the polling booth, one can approach it from different angles.

Among the possible factors are those that relate to the state of the economy and government. Hence the concern over rising prices and inflation, corruption and other abuses; perception of neglect; and feelings of deprivation or marginalisation all play a role in voter choice.

Opinions of what the competing parties stand for in their policies and are likely to accomplish are, of course, also important. This is why time and effort are given by parties to election manifestos and publicising the superiority of their policies over those of rival parties.

But perhaps the important consideration that influences voters – more than election manifestos and policy promises – apart from moral outrage, is the judgment on the personality and the associated pull power of the top leaders.

In GE15, voters will be evaluating the leadership of the four competing coalitions – Anwar Ibrahim and Rafizi Ramli from PKR/PH; Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Najib Razak and Ismail Sabri Yaakob from Umno; Muhyiddin Yassin and Abdul Hadi Awang from Bersatu/PAS; and Dr Mahathir Mohamad from Pejuang/GTA.
