A Global Community of Shared Future: China's Proposals and Actions
Posted by: superadmin - 09-26-2023, 10:48 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

China releases a white paper on its proposals and actions on building a global community of shared future

The Chinese government released a white paper on Tuesday to introduce the theoretical base, practice and development of a global community of shared future, as by presenting China's vision of the course of human development, it counters the hegemonic thinking of certain countries that seek supremacy.

The white paper, titled "A Global Community of Shared Future: China's Proposals and Actions," introduced the background for China to raise the concept of a global community of shared future as the world is undergoing changes on a scale unseen in a century with various problems posing unprecedented challenges for human society. The zero-sum game is doomed to fail, the white paper said. But certain countries still cling to this mindset, blindly pursuing absolute security and monopolistic advantages, which will do nothing for their development in the long run but create a major threat to the world.

It is increasingly obvious that the obsession with superior strength, and the zero-sum mentality are in conflict with the needs of our times, the white paper said, pointing out that the new era calls for new ideas.

A ‘quota-less’ education system is the first step to eradicate Malaysia’s brain drain
Posted by: superadmin - 09-26-2023, 10:42 AM - Forum: Stop Racism and Religious Bigotry - No Replies

WHEN Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was in New York recently to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), he lamented on the problem of brain drain from the country.

He said that he had instructed the relevant ministries to look into the problem of brain drain and how to entice those who have left the Malaysian shores to come back to contribute to the development of the nation.

It is well and good for Anwar to say this in a place like US because there is hardly any attention paid to the internal dynamics of Malaysia.

But is it surprising that talented Malaysians are leaving their shores to take up employment or migrating overseas?

Many of those who left the country and who have sought gainful employment have been affected by government policies. It was the non-recognition of their talents or the inability of the government to provide the recognition that led could have led to the brain drain.

Anwar hammers from New York over disappointing embarrassment back home
Posted by: superadmin - 09-26-2023, 09:52 AM - Forum: Business. Economy and Investment - No Replies

Letter to editor

OUR Prime Minister (PM) who has taken a hard-working team to the US to clinch the crème de la crème businesses which are eagerly sought after by many nations must be a painfully disappointed leader.

Right thinking Malaysians will understand the frustration felt by our PM who was told by prospective business leaders in New York that business approvals are being delayed too long (and unreasonably for certain) in Malaysia.

Indeed, what this reflects is the long-buried fact that our civil servants – and especially the many little Napoleons – are ruining all the good work of our new government.

It can be very painful for any leader of a nation to be told the truth as to why businesses are not keen to come to invest.

It is time for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take the bull by the horn upon his return. Enough is enough.

Even Malaysians back home will share their frustrations when dealing with business approving authorities – let alone for many other applications and follow-ups.

Ipoh City Council sends three lorries to dispose of senior’s garbage
Posted by: superadmin - 09-26-2023, 06:44 AM - Forum: Local News - No Replies

IPOH – It is a praiseworthy attitude, but her obsession with the environment grew into a hoarding disorder for this elderly woman, who ignored her horrified neighbours and turned her home into a “warehouse” for the collection of garbage, which has spun out of control in the past three years.

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) had to send three eight-tonne lorries to dispose of the mountain of rubbish estimated to weigh three tonnes in a concerted operation at her house in Jalan Merpati, Taman Ipoh, this morning.

According to MBI, this is the third time the local council has had to carry out a clean-up operation at the same house after the owner failed to cease her hoarding activity despite being advised many times over.

In fact, the owner, who lives in the house with her husband, was once referred to the Social Welfare Department for counselling, but the elderly person kept repeating the clutter of recyclables.
