KUALA LUMPUR – Global-scale digital infrastructure firm DigitalBridge Group is expected to start investing more than RM4 billion in
Malaysia’s infrastructure sector by year-end, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said DigitalBridge is a digital infrastructure company that invests in data centres, telecommunication towers and fibre-optic networks.
“According to a Knight Frank white paper, Malaysia’s digital infrastructure growth is the fastest (among five emerging markets in Southeast Asia) with 113 megawatts of take-up just in 2022, or four times that of Thailand,” he shared in a Facebook post today.
Anwar said he recently received an honourable visit from a DigitalBridge delegation.
The prime minister also said that he would remain committed and stress the importance of ensuring a clean and conducive ecosystem to facilitate businesses and investments into the country.
“(This is) part of our efforts to drive economic growth for the people’s well-being. #MalaysiaMadani,” he added. – Bernama, April 15, 2023

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional will find it difficult to wrest Negeri Sembilan from Pakatan Harapan as the “green wave”, which saw Muhyiddin Yassin’s coalition secure 74 seats in the last general election, is weakening, an analyst said.
Azmi Hassan of Akademi Nusantara said the “green wave” was powerful four months ago, which was why PN won in Padang Serai, Kedah, even though PH had joined forces with Barisan Nasional.
The election for the parliamentary constituency was held on Dec 7 – just over a week after the unity government was formed – following the death of the PH candidate. PN won with a 16,260-vote majority.
But now, PN stood no chance, Azmi said.

China's export volume grew by 23.4 percent year-on-year in yuan-denominated terms in March, which is seen by analysts as a "very pleasant surprise" amid the current complex and volatile international business environment, and underscores the resilience of the Chinese economy.
They said China will become a locomotive for global economy to return to development track from negative impacts of COVID-19, US-led unilateralism and protectionism as well as other risks, dealing a heavy blow to certain Western countries' decoupling push.
China's export volume in March stood at 2.15 trillion yuan ($312.85 billion), up 23.4 percent from the previous year, while soaring 48.4 percent month-on-month, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Thursday.

SINGAPORE – Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has warned the public not to purchase or consume two products as they contained steroids and other potent medicinal substances which could cause serious adverse effects on consumers.
The products are “D’sihat Herba Gout & Sendi” for pain relief and “Yanwo Chongcao Yanyin Qinfei Huatan Dan” for cough relief.
According to HSA, a woman in her 50s who had been taking “D’sihat Herba Gout & Sendi” for seven months for her knee pain developed Cushing’s syndrome (a serious steroid-induced condition marked by a round or ‘moon face’ appearance) and was hospitalised as a result.
“She also experienced weight gain, lower limb swelling, and elevated blood sugar level.
