‘Raging epidemic is not inevitable’ — Dr. Scott Gottlieb believes China case count an

Dr. Scott Gottlieb on Monday lamented the persistent spread of the coronavirus in the U.S., suggesting the nation’s response pales in comparison to other places around the world.

“The entire Pacific Rim has less than 1,000 infections a day. Having a raging epidemic is not inevitable,” Gottlieb said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” referring to countries such as China, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea and Australia.

“People want to say China is lying about the two dozen cases that they’re reporting a day, which I don’t believe they are [lying]. Certainly, the entire Pacific Rim isn’t in on the conspiracy. It isn’t inevitable that we have a raging epidemic,” added the former Food and Drug Administration commissioner under President Donald Trump.

YOURSAY | 'Dr M, the pardon was part of Harapan deal'
Posted by: superadmin - 10-06-2020, 12:14 PM - Forum: Local News - No Replies

Capo: Mahathir, Anwar's royal pardon was the top of Pakatan Harapan’s promises. The electorate voted overwhelmingly for Harapan based on this premise and made you the prime minister.

As such, you were required to work with the Pardon's Board to secure Anwar's freedom. What you did not expect was when the Agong pardoned Anwar based on the premise of miscarriage of justice from 1998-2018. That means all the charges against Anwar were trumped-up and politically motivated.

If you had honoured your own written and spoken word to hand over the premiership baton to Anwar, like then PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail honoured hers, today you would be our hero, not a zero.
You stole our hard-fought mandate by toppling a legitimately elected government.

G25 supports Perak ruler’s call for fatwas to consider views of all stakeholders
Posted by: superadmin - 10-04-2020, 01:14 PM - Forum: Local News - No Replies

We the members of G25 Malaysia would like to record our appreciation to the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, for his speech at the recent nationwide convention of fatwa committees, which was held in Sepang, Selangor, on Sept 22. 2020.

It was a well-written and progressive speech in which the ruler advised that fatwas which are formulated should take into account the views of all stakeholders in society. This is because, when fatwas are issued after receiving the royal consent in the respective states, they are expected to be well-received, due to their practical application in the daily lives of every Muslim.

New James Bond movie pushed to April 2021 as coronavirus cases continue to rise
Posted by: superadmin - 10-03-2020, 02:41 PM - Forum: English Movies - No Replies

“No Time to Die,” the James Bond film that was the first Hollywood feature to move on the theatrical caledar due to the coronavirus outbreak, is moving again. This time, it’s got its sights on 2021.

On Friday, MGM Studios announced that Daniel Craig’s latest turn as British spy James Bond would no longer arrive in theaters on Nov. 20. Instead, the film has been postponed to April 2, 2021.

“No Time to Die” is the latest blockbuster to leave the fall movie slate in the wake of the lackluster performance of Warner Bros. “Tenet” at the domestic box office. Some had predicted that the James Bond film may stick around because of its reliance on international ticket sales. Cinemas overseas have seen audiences return in droves while U.S. moviegoers have stayed home.

Fury erupts online over ministry’s move to delay physical student intakes at public u
Posted by: superadmin - 10-03-2020, 11:44 AM - Forum: Local News - No Replies

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — Malaysians have reacted with anger over the Higher Education Ministry’s sudden “recommendation” for public universities to postpone ongoing student intakes and registrations.

After the ministry issued the “advice” yesterday, upset students pointed out that they have already made travel arrangements to attend their respective universities and were left in a lurch.

Many expressed fears that they would be left stranded again as they had been when the movement control order was first announced in March.
