“In dreamland” Tun M as third term PM: Are you kidding or not?
Posted by: superadmin - 10-19-2022, 10:32 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

I AM not sure whether the two-termed former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad is joking or serious about wanting to become the Prime Minister for the third time.

He has mentioned this on a number of occasions in the recent past.

After the formation of the national Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) coalition which consist of several mosquito political parties, he suddenly thinks that his chances of becoming the PM is a possibility.

Don’t ‘rent’ stocks in this treacherous market, Jim Cramer warns

  • CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Tuesday warned investors to stay the course and weather the turbulent market.

CNBC’s Jim Cramer on Tuesday warned investors to stay the course and weather the turbulent market.

“You have to resist the urge to rent stocks because you’ll get evicted when they inevitably decline in price. Instead, you should be willing to own your favorites that have dividend and valuation protection, and buy more into weakness,” he said.

Ex-PM Khan wins big in Pakistan by-election
Posted by: superadmin - 10-17-2022, 09:20 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan won six of eight national assembly seats he stood for in a weekend by-election, unofficial results showed on Monday (Oct 17), a vote he has called a referendum on his popularity.

The by-election is the latest twist in months of political wrangling that began before Khan's April ouster via a no-confidence vote, and comes as the nation grapples with the aftermath of devastating monsoon floods that left a third of the country under water.

"He defeats many", trumpeted the front-page banner headline on the Daily Times newspaper, echoing the tone of local media coverage which called it a personal victory for the former international cricket star.

Caretaker PM can’t write off debts, say ex-MPs, Bersih chief
Posted by: superadmin - 10-17-2022, 06:55 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

PETALING JAYA: Caretaker Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob does not have the power to write off debts amounting to hundreds of millions of ringgit owed by Felcra settlers, say former opposition MPs.

Earlier today, Ismail announced that Putrajaya had agreed in principle to waive some RM223.8 million in debts owed by Felcra settlers.

In a Bernama report, he said the cancellation of the Felcra settlers’ debts had to be brought to the Cabinet for approval, adding that he hoped this could be done after the 15th general election (GE15).

He also said the government will spend RM191 million on monsoon season aid for 232,319 Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda) smallholders, with each smallholder to receive some RM600 in November and December.

“At least 3 criminal offences in Zahid’s fiery speech at MIC general assembly”
Posted by: superadmin - 10-17-2022, 11:03 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

IS UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi aware that he may have committed at least three criminal offences in his speech at the MIC’s 76th general assembly last Monday (Oct 10)?

Zahid has had seven days to clarify but he has been unable to substantiate the UMNO and Barisan Nasional’s (BN) “declaration of war” for the 15th General Election (GE15) in his speech.

He said:

“Candidates from MIC, UMNO, MCA and PBRS (Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah) have to win in a dominant fashion. It’s now or never. This election is the mother of all general elections. If we fail, our fate will be worse than the last election.

“Right now, only I will be charged, Tok Mat (UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan), you are on the waiting list, Vicky (MIC president Tan Sri S.A. Vigneswaran) don’t laugh, you are also included. What more (MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M.) Saravanan?

“Reopen Altantuya murder probe in light of new Najib-Rosmah implication”
Posted by: superadmin - 10-16-2022, 08:11 PM - Forum: Politics - Replies (1)

[Image: methode_times_prodmigration_web_bin_e4a4...7856bc.jpg]

A VIDEO interview with businessman Deepak Jaikishan on Jom Channel is going viral. To say the least, his claims stink to high heaven.

Narrating in great detail, Deepak claimed that the order to kill Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu reportedly implicates imprisoned former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in the murder.

The National Patriots Association (PATRIOT) views this very seriously and it warrants a reopening of the case for reinvestigation and probably even a retrial.

If one were to recall, the allegation that Najib and Rosmah were connected to the murder of Altantuya was a widely shared view among Malaysians. However, Najib insisted that he does not know Altantuya and neither has he met her, as accused.

In fact, the couple, Najib and Rosmah, were not named as witnesses in the trial.

Hadi in hot soup again, now over “communists and Agong rejecters in Pakatan” claim
Posted by: superadmin - 10-16-2022, 08:04 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: WhatsApp-Image-2022-07-22-at-12.42.00-PM-1.jpg]

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has found himself in hot soup again, this time over his recent claim that Pakatan Harapan consists of “communists” and “rejectors of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong”.

Incumbent Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng noted that Hadi did not provide any proof or basis for his “seditious” remarks, some of which were rehashed on the former Marang MP’s Facebook account yesterday (Oct 15).

In listing reasons for the Islamist party’s position against accepting Pakatan, Hadi alleged: “In Pakatan, there are those who oppose Islam, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons, communists, traitors, those who reject the King, bribe-givers and bribe-takers.”

He added: “Bribe-givers and bribe-receivers are found in Pakatan even though they say they are against corruption. (Besides that), they get the contribution of people who give bribes and they don’t fight against LGBT and evils; they only focus on UMNO’s corruption.”

In a statement today, Lim dared Hadi to lodge a police report within the next 48 hours if the latter believes that Pakatan harbours communists and anti-monarchists.
