TAPAH: Barisan Nasional might have remained in power in 2018 if Najib Razak had sat out the elections, according to MIC deputy president M Saravanan.
He said Najib’s image problem was a contributing factor to the shift in support among Indian voters away from BN.
“If only he’d declared that he wasn’t contesting, maybe, I think BN would have retained power. But Najib’s position, 1MDB, the goods and services tax and many other issues were played up by the opposition, so the Indians shifted,” Saravanan told FMT.
He said it was made worse by Pakatan Harapan making many “empty promises” such as resolving the issue of red ICs among Malaysian Indians, which they failed to do during the coalition’s 22-month tenure in government.
“And now they’re saying that the previous 22 months was not sufficient, it’s not Dr Mahathir Mohamad or anyone else saying that,” Saravanan said.

HONG KONG/SINGAPORE/LONDON (Nov 13): FTX was engulfed in more chaos on Saturday when the crypto exchange said it had detected unauthorised access and analysts said hundreds of millions of dollars of assets had been moved from the platform in "suspicious circumstances".
FTX filed for bankruptcy on Friday, one of the highest-profile crypto blow-ups, after traders rushed to withdraw US$6 billion (RM27.76 billion) from the platform in just 72 hours and rival exchange Binance abandoned a proposed rescue deal.
FTX chief executive officer John J Ray III said on Saturday that the company was working with law enforcement and regulators to mitigate the problem, and was making "every effort to secure all assets, wherever located".
"Among other things, we are in the process of removing trading and withdrawal functionality," he said.

It's every B2B company's absolute nightmare late payments. And for good reason invoices paid after the due date or even unpaid bills are commonplace in the sector. For several companies, factoring therefore appears to be an effective means of anticipating possible cash flow problems. What is factoring? Also called factoring , factoring is a financial management technique which consists, for a company, in calling on a specialized organization to take care of its cash flow. The financial institution in question, nicknamed factor , is responsible for all subjects related to invoicing: management of unpaid bills, monitoring of payments, termination of reminders and recovery, etc. Note that there are several types of factoring.
With their own specificities classic factoring: the company sells its receivables directly to the factor. Who immediately pays the corresponding amount. semi-confidential factoring: here, the factor only handles cash management, but not debt collection. one-off factoring: in this case, the factoring contract does not concern all the Bulk SMS Service receivables, but rather a few, and this on an irregular basis. Usually it's on a case-by-case basis. reverse factoring : rarer, reverse factoring is initiated by the debtor, who asks the factor to settle his debts with the company. import factoring and export factoring: these two types of factoring concern B2B companies that work with international customers. How does factoring work.

In concrete terms when a company signs a factoring contract with a financial institution. This means that it assigns all of its receivables to it. The process is as follows: A B2B company issues an invoice for a customer, She uses a factor and signs a factoring contract, It "sells" the invoice to the specialized body, Upon receipt of the document, the factoring company pays 90% of the amount including tax of the receivables to the company. The remaining 10% is intended for the guarantee fund as well as management fees, and is paid to the company when its customers have paid their invoices to the factor . It is the factor who will have to take care of the recovery of the invoice in the event of unpaid or late payment, since it is he who now owns the debt. An effective tool to guard against delays and non-payments In the B2B sector.

PETALING JAYA: Electoral reform group Bersih has praised the election manifestos of Barisan Nasional (BN), Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) for their inclusion of democratic reforms.
Although the manifesto promises were not comprehensive, Bersih said the pledges to strengthen and restore trust in public institutions as well as provide greater transparency were welcome.
“In particular, the separation of the public prosecution function from the attorney-general (AG) has long been a key demand by Bersih and other civil society organisations to remove doubts of selective prosecution and immunity from prosecution.
“We are pleased to see that both PH and BN have explicitly promised to separate the roles of the AG and public prosecutor,” it said in a statement.
