PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob should advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to suspend embattled Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki from his duties until independent investigations are complete, said Amanah top brass.

Party deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub made the call following allegations against the chief commissioner over ownership of shares in two public-listed companies.

“Amanah is fighting on the principles of integrity and democracy, and we demand that Ismail Sabri take this action (advise the Agong) in accordance with Article 40(1) of the federal constitution to suspend Azam from his position until an independent investigation is completed.”

He said this in a press conference after handing over a memorandum to a representative from the Prime Minister’s Office here. – The Vibes, January 17, 2022

Parliament postpones Wednesday’s PSC meet on Azam Baki debacle due to ‘legal issues’

KUALA LUMPUR – The parliamentary select committee (PSC) proceedings on Wednesday to discuss Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki’s debacle have been postponed to a later date.

In a notice to the committee members issued today, Dewan Rakyat secretary Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin said the decision was made due to several issues that require prior legal advice from Parliament’s legal counsel office.

He did not elaborate on what these issues are.

“I wish to inform that the PSC on agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, has been postponed to a future date that will be announced later.

“The attention and cooperation of the honourable members on this matter is highly appreciated.”

  (Laboratory) Medical Billing Software
Posted by: charlesjarvis0303 - 01-17-2022, 03:38 PM - Forum: Computer Software - Replies (3)

Medical billing providers are using industry standard software that offers clients the advantages of cost, customization, efficiency, accountability and financial reporting. Healthcare providers should examine not only the services of the Medical coding and billing provider but also the quality and features of the medical billing software they use to ensure it is suitable for their practice. All medical billing software must have the basic features to submit claims and manage billing electronically. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Efficient software provides flexibility, speed, transparency of data, security, point-of-sale bill tracking, extensive reporting, scheduling of patient visits, scanning, printing, credit card processing, email capabilities, and much more.

US and China, in separate corners, wrestle with cryptomania’s excesses

  • Washington has moved slowly in regulating digital currency, while Beijing recently banned it outright, introducing a state-led version under government control
  • Both nations share concerns over the risk of tax evasion, money laundering, terrorism financing and bitcoin’s impact on monetary policy

The craze has inspired Selfiecoins, Potcoins and UFOCoins, fuelled a failed bid to buy a rare copy of the US Constitution, inspired legions of confusing jargon and prompted dozens of nations to consider creating their own official version.

To say the world of cryptocurrency, blockchain and central bank digital currencies is rife with hype and hoopla is an understatement.

“There are a lot of warning signs and flashing lights,” says Gary Gensler, chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission. “It’s more like the Wild West.”

But cultlike adherents believe this brave new world is as revolutionary as China’s invention of paper currency a thousand years ago.

China willing to offer assistance to tsunami-hit Tonga
Posted by: superadmin - 01-17-2022, 02:59 PM - Forum: International News - No Replies

The tsunami triggered by a massive underwater volcanic eruption off Tonga rarely seen in 30 years has neither caused deaths or injuries of Chinese nationals nor brought disastrous effects to China's coast so far, but its impacts on the whole Pacific region are being closely watched by China as people worry whether the natural disaster would catastrophically inundate the low-lying Tongan islands and affect the global climate.

The United Nations and many countries have expressed their readiness to help Tonga recover from disastrous tsunamis. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Sunday night that China is very concerned about the volcanic eruption off Tonga, tsunamis, volcanic ashes and other disasters it triggered.

"China and Tonga are comprehensive strategic partners. China expresses deep sympathy and sincere condolence to its people and is ready to provide support within its capacity upon the Tongan request," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Sunday.

  • For the full year, China economists had expected an average of 8.4% growth in 2021, according to financial data provider Wind Information.

BEIJING — China’s economy grew by 8.1% in 2021 as industrial production rose steadily through the end of the year and offset a drop off in retail sales, according to official data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics released Monday.

Fourth-quarter GDP rose by 4% from a year ago, according to the statistics bureau. That’s faster than the 3.6% increase forecast by a Reuters poll. For the full year, China economists expected an average of 8.4% growth in 2021, according to financial data provider Wind Information.

Industrial production rose by 4.3% in December from a year ago, the bureau said, also beating Reuters’ forecast of 3.6% growth. Notably, auto production grew for the first time since April, up by 3.4% year-on-year in December.

Ex-minister ousted due to disciplinary issues, says PAS sec-gen
Posted by: superadmin - 01-16-2022, 08:08 PM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

[Image: Takiyuddin-Hassan-Khairuddin-Aman-Razali-1.jpg]

PETALING JAYA: PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has confirmed that disciplinary issues had led to former minister Khairuddin Aman Razali’s ouster from the party’s central committee.

He said it had nothing to do with Khairuddin’s views about the party’s alliance with Umno in Muafakat Nasional (MN).

“No one in PAS has ever been fired for holding a differing opinion,” he said, in response to speculation that Khairuddin was removed because he believed PAS should stand by Umno in the alliance.
