PETALING JAYA: Police have decided to postpone taking a statement from PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang over a speech in which he allegedly questioned the Pardons Board.
Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain confirmed the matter with Utusan Malaysia. He said police were told Hadi was unwell.
“The police officer was informed by Hadi’s aide that Hadi was still unwell and asked for the questioning to be deferred,” he was quoted as saying.
Hadi was scheduled to have his statement taken at his office this evening.
On Monday, it was reported that Hadi was being investigated under the Sedition Act after he allegedly questioned the Pardons Board’s authority to pardon convicted criminals.

IN THE last week, netizens were quick to react to a public performance by a group of belly dancers in the popular shopping haven of Bukit Bintang.
The matters seem to have been resolved as the authorities have shut down the shop that commissioned the dancers as they were foreigners who did not have the necessary paperwork to run a business.
But the deeper underlying issue is how this performance have sparked outrage with sensationalist headlines in local media labelling the dancers as being “partially nude”. Many netizens have complained that such a performance was entirely inappropriate for a Muslim country, sparking again the sensitive issue of what is permissible dress code in this country.

PETALING JAYA: Universiti Malaya Association of New Youth (Umany) has called out the higher education ministry for its alleged moral policing role in the newly proposed “Guidelines for Entertainment Activities (Concerts) in Higher Education Institutions”.
The student body said the ministry is trying to impose religious governance on campuses.
“The contents of these guidelines are extremely conservative, prohibiting actions such as mixed seating for males and females and artistes wearing shorts (during performances),” it said in a statement.
It said that based on the contents of the guidelines, “it can be seen that a conservative wave has made its way into university campuses”.
“Surprisingly, it is not led by Perikatan Nasional, but rather by the unity government, which claimed to be ‘progressive’ in the past elections,” it said.

PETALING JAYA: A DAP leader has defended the “Malaysian Malaysia” slogan in the party’s constitution, saying it does not violate the Federal Constitution.
Sheikh Omar Ali, a member of DAP’s central executive committee, said the slogan should not be perceived as a threat to the diverse cultural and religious aspects of the country’s multiethnic society.
“There is no issue with ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ as that spirit aligns with the essence of the Federal Constitution,” he told FMT.
“Elements, such as (Malay) language, Malay privileges, religion and more are already explicitly provided in the Federal Constitution.”

White Screen Test is a website that lets you change your screen to a bright white one. With a white screen, it's easy to see if your display has any dead pixels. You can also use the light from the white screen to read or do other things in the dark.
If you want to see other colors, you can do that too. You can choose from full black screen, red screen, green screen, blue screen, etc, or even select any custom color as the full-screen background.
Here are the steps to turn off your laptop, computer, or mobile device's bright white screen.
- Go to white-screen.site on the gadget you want a white screen on.
- Click the box that is white on the page.
- When you click, the screen on your device will be bright white and in full-screen view.
- Press the Esc key to get your screen back to how it was before.
- You can also add a text message to the screen if you want to.

Abolish vernacular schools to reduce racial divide, says Dr M
PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has called for vernacular schools to be shut down, describing it as the best way to reduce the racial divide.
Mahathir has been critical of the vernacular school system in the past, claiming that it has divided the country.
“One of the best ways to close the racial divide is through education, and among (the measures that can be taken is) abolishing vernacular schools,” Utusan Malaysia quoted the former prime minister as saying.
He also claimed there were “certain races” who refused to enrol their children in national schools as they were akin to religious schools.

Latest plan to topple PM Anwar, Hishammuddin to lead 7 UMNO traitors to trigger by elections

PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang told all and sundry that Anwar-led Unity Government could collapse if Opposition Perikatan Nasional wins the upcoming Pulai parliamentary by-election. Exactly how could the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS – Parti Islam Se-Malaysia), along with its sidekick Bersatu (Malaysian United Indigenous Party) forms a backdoor government with just 74 MPs?

PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang told all and sundry that Anwar-led Unity Government could collapse if Opposition Perikatan Nasional wins the upcoming Pulai parliamentary by-election. Exactly how could the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS – Parti Islam Se-Malaysia), along with its sidekick Bersatu (Malaysian United Indigenous Party) forms a backdoor government with just 74 MPs?
Even if the opposition manages to snatch Pulai, its total Member of Parliaments in the 222-seat Parliament will increase to 75. It’s indeed laughable that the opposition thinks it could topple the current government with just 75 MPs against 147 MPs. Sure, the alliance of Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional might lose its two-thirds majority if Pulai is lost. But the unity government is still intact.
In comparison, the previous backdoor regime of Muhyiddin Yassin had a razor-thin majority of only 114 MPs. Of course, the disgraced man finally lost power after just 17 months – betrayed by a faction of his own ally, the United Malays National Organization (UMNO). His chosen successor, “turtle-egg” Ismail Sabri served only 15 months – the shortest-serving prime minister in history.
