PERIKATAN Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said there is no unity in the Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-led unity government, and that the Prime Minister was only concerned about his own party and his own survival.
According to a report by FMT, Muhyiddin said the Prime Minister is aware that his survival is contingent on others and this is why he was willing to appoint Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as a deputy prime minister despite the Bagan Datuk MP facing multiple corruption charges.
“He knows without Barisan Nasional (BN) he does not have the numbers and he cannot be the prime minister,” the Bersatu president told the news portal in an interview.
In calling the unity government fragile, Muhyiddin said there is no stability and that it could collapse any time.
“We don’t have such issues within Perikatan Nasional [unlike the unity government]. PH (Pakatan Harapan) faces plenty of internal problems while in BN there is strife with MCA and MIC over accusations that these two parties are liabilities.

“Muhyiddin is part of the problem, not the solution”
I DON’T expect Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to say anything worthwhile or good about the few-months-old unity government helmed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said recently that the unity government is hopeless, lacks direction and mostly importantly has no answer of the decline of the value of the ringgit, the state of the economy and the sad plight of the B40 community.
Muhyiddin also claimed that it was Anwar’s inability to address these – and other issues – that had given rise to instability in the country.
I don’t think that Anwar has downplayed the economic and financial problems of the country. He might be in power for a for few months, but he is certainly not resting on his laurels.
There is constant and relentless search for enduring political, economic and political stability.

GLCs are not ATMs to award supporters, Bersih tells Muhyiddin
PETALING JAYA: Electoral watchdog Bersih has slammed Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Muhyiddin Yassin for promising members of his coalition positions as head of government-linked companies (GLCs) should the coalition win in the upcoming state elections.
Bersih chairman Thomas Fann said Muhyiddin’s promise was an “affront to good governance” and an “abuse of power”.
“GLCs are companies that exist to safeguard and increase public wealth. They are not for use by political parties as ATMs (automated teller machines) by putting party loyalists on the state’s payroll.
“In openly declaring his (Muhyiddin) intention, we also wonder if it is a form of vote buying to secure the support of certain groups,” he told FMT.
