KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says he does not want the “enmity” or “turbulent relationship” between him and Dr Mahathir Mohamad to continue to persist as all quarters should have accepted the fact that the people had given him the mandate to lead the government.
In fact, Anwar said that his focus at the moment was to perform his duties as prime minister and that he refused to entertain the rantings and comments of the veteran statesman.
“The people have chosen and given their mandate to me to do the job. I am focusing on that. However, I also don’t want this to be perceived as a never-ending enmity (with Mahathir),” he said during an interview aired on CNBC Indonesia last night.
