GE15: Don’t resort to sabotage, ‘cah keting’ after being dropped as candidates, says Zahid
KUALA LUMPUR – Individuals who have been dropped by Barisan Nasional as election candidates should not resort to protesting, “cah keting” and sabotage as they had been given numerous chances and opportunities in the past, said Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In a Facebook post this morning, Zahid said it was not easy to make bitter but firm, brave and wise decisions needed to restore and bring about the rise of Umno and BN.
“If Umno and BN do not make changes now, it may cause the party to fall behind when rival parties make changes, especially among candidates contesting in the general election,” he said.
The voice of the youth, he said, is very important and that BN will have to provide the opportunity for new candidates to contest.

Keeping stubborn leaders will lead to ‘disaster’ for Umno, says Puad
PETALING JAYA: Umno Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi has dismissed claims that the decision to drop several big names for the coming general election (GE15) will hurt the party.
While he did not provide any names, Puad said some of the “heavyweight leaders” who were not picked for GE15 have threatened that their omission would lead to a “disaster” for Umno.
“Actually, keeping the stubborn ones is a disaster for the party. They do not obey the party’s decisions and they burden the party,” he said in a Facebook post.
“It’s better to drop them. Their attitude provides our opponents with ammunition to criticise the party.

GE15: again, Pakatan promises to abolish tolls on North-South Expressway
KLANG – Pakatan Harapan (PH) is once again promising to eliminate tolls on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) if it is granted the mandate to govern the nation again.
The pledge is one of many highlighted in PH’s manifesto, which was officially launched today, with nomination day for the 15th general elections (GE15) just three days away.
The coalition is essentially repeating the vow it made during the previous general election in 2018. It then secured a historic win against Barisan Nasional (BN) on May 9 that year.
“PH is determined to continue reducing PLUS tolls gradually with the ultimate goal of eliminating tolls and returning PLUS highway to public ownership,” its manifesto for GE15 said.

GE15: Pakatan includes citizenship rights, separation of AG, DPP’s powers in manifesto
KUALA LUMPUR – Ensuring citizenship rights is one of Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) fresh promises in its 15th general election (GE15) manifesto, which appears to be filled with recycled pledges that echo those vowed during previous national polls.
The manifesto, which was launched earlier today by PH leaders, stated that the coalition will amend Article 15(2) and Article 14(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution to guarantee citizenship for children born to either a Malaysian mother or father.
“Simultaneously, (constitutional) amendments will also be made to provide automatic citizenship to adopted children,” the manifesto said.

GE15: Muda confirms Syed Saddiq for Muar seat
KUALA LUMPUR – Muda tonight confirmed that Muar incumbent and party president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman will defend the parliamentary seat in the 15th general election (GE15).
This is in spite of his ongoing criminal trial involving criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of funds, and money laundering of RM1 million of Bersatu youth wing’s funds.
Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz announced at an event in Muar tonight that Syed Saddiq is the best choice for Muda to win the federal seat in Johor because of his people-orientated programmes and excellent service.

Back Zahid as PM, drop court cases: leaked letter shows ‘terms’ for Umno candidates
KUALA LUMPUR – Umno candidates for the 15th general election (GE15) must support party president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as prime minister candidate, a leaked statement now going viral on Twitter shows.
They must also push the new government to drop court cases involving Umno and BN leaders, as well as any ongoing investigations that involve them.
Zahid is among the party's leaders who have ongoing corruption cases.
The document is an “akujanji” or oath declaration bearing Umno’s letterhead and signed by the candidate as well as Zahid and Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
