GE15: Rafizi says disappointed fence-sitters will determine polls outcome
KUALA LUMPUR – Fence-sitters who are disappointed with all political parties will be the deal-breakers in the 15th general election (GE15), PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said.
They are well-informed of both the government and opposition’s shortcomings and have no inclination to either side of the political divide.
“They are aware of the effects of bribery and wrongful deeds. They also know that many Umno, Pas, and Bersatu ministers do not know how to lead.
“However, they are also disappointed with the performance of Pakatan Harapan (PH) during its 22 months in power.
“It is this category that will decide who wins GE15,” Rafizi said in a video on Facebook.

Pakatan-BN collaboration a big ‘NO’, Rafizi firm on stance
RAFIZI Ramli is one Opposition leader who stands on principles stating he will not bow down to talks to form a Government with Barisan Nasional (BN) should Pakatan Harapan return to Putrajaya.
Unlike his boss Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who has been speculated to have held secret talks with UMNO President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the PKR deputy president has put his foot down saying he will be the first to oppose any negotiations to work with UMNO.
He also rejected any form of cooperation with other coalitions including Perikatan Nasional, stating the Opposition coalition would instead be happy and willing to work with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) or Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
“I am not interested in (coalitions with) Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA), BN or Perikatan Nasional (PN),” said Rafizi during a PKR press conference at the party’s headquarters today.

4 PAS leaders courted to contest under BN ticket, says source
PETALING JAYA: Four PAS leaders were approached and urged to contest under the Barisan Nasional banner in the coming general election (GE15), a source revealed.
The source told FMT that it had been proposed that the four PAS men contest the Pengkalan Chepa, Tumpat, Shah Alam and Indera Mahkota parliamentary seats under the BN banner.
He added that the proposal was made on the basis of maintaining the spirit of Muafakat Nasional. “The seats are considered MN seats.”
This follows rumours that several PAS leaders will not be standing in GE15. FMT has reached out to the four PAS leaders for comment.

GE15: MIC pulling out?
KUALA LUMPUR – A seat dispute is threatening to derail Barisan Nasional’s (BN) chances in the coming general election (GE15) with speculation that component partner MIC is refusing to accept any seat as it feels short-changed over seat allocation.
If MIC does not show up tonight at BN’s naming of candidates, then it can be read as a confirmation that MIC is planning to sit out GE15.
“They are holding Umno to ransom to give them more seats by nomination day on Saturday,” said a source.
“The MIC leadership has called for an emergency meeting of the central working committee tomorrow.”
MIC was expecting to contest in 10 parliamentary and three state seats but apparently Umno has now decided to offer only five parliamentary seats, according to sources.

Questions over candidates for 6 BN seats, as big names dropped
PETALING JAYA: Several big names were dropped as Barisan Nasional candidates for the coming general election (GE15), while questions remain over six parliamentary seats after the coalition did not name anyone for them.
Former Arau MP Shahidan Kassim and former Ketereh MP Annuar Musa appear to have been dropped, confirming earlier reports that they would not feature in the coming polls.
Also seemingly dropped were Halimah Sadique, Dr Adham Baba and Zahidi Zainul Abidin.
The five were part of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s administration.

Dropped Shahidan to contest Arau against BN
PETALING JAYA: Federal territories minister Shahidan Kassim has confirmed that he will defend his Arau seat despite being dropped by Barisan Nasional (BN).
According to a Utusan Malaysia report, Shahidan said he has yet to decide which party he will contest for.
“I am a winnable candidate, I will stand for election. I will ask the branches (in Arau) who I should contest for.
“I will choose a party that is supportive of Muafakat Nasional,” he said, referring to the pact between PAS and Umno.

GE15: Four MCA top guns fail to make cut as candidates
KUALA LUMPUR – Four of MCA’s top leaders are set to miss out on the upcoming general election, going by Barisan Nasional’s (BN) announcement yesterday.
Arguably the biggest name left out is party vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker, who had previously expressed interest in contesting the Kuantan parliamentary seat, a constituency which was also being eyed by fellow BN component Umno.
In announcing the names of BN candidates last night, coalition chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the seat in Pahang will be contested by state Umno communication secretary Datuk Seri Ab Hamid Mohd Nazahar.

GE15: are we voting? four ‘nos’ and a ‘maybe’
KUALA LUMPUR – In the lead-up to the 15th general election (GE15), mixed feelings are rife as Malaysians gear up to exercise their democratic right to vote.
The last general election, in 2018, resulted in regime change after six decades, when Barisan Nasional (BN) lost federal power for the first time, as well as control of all states in the peninsula except Perlis and Pahang.
The Pakatan Harapan government, however, only ruled for 22 months before the infamous Sheraton Move happened and led to its collapse.
