KUALA LUMPUR: A federal minister has accused Pakatan Harapan (PH) of violating the memorandum of understanding (MoU) it had with the government after the opposition coalition demanded for a bloc vote on a provision of a controversial law.

Communications and multimedia minister Annuar Musa said PH’s action had essentially nullified the MoU, Bernama reported.

“In my opinion, because of their actions, the MoU is cancelled.

“This is a blessing in disguise as the prime minister can now cancel or suspend the implementation of the MoU,” he said in a Facebook post today, adding: “Suspend the MoU! Jom!… We will prepare for GE15.”

PETALING JAYA: After the government’s failure to approve a motion under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) yesterday, Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan says Putrajaya must review its reforms pact with Pakatan Harapan now.

In a statement, Mohamad said it might be time for the government to move beyond waiting for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PH to end in July, hinting at calling for a snap general election.
