Grassroots will punish Umno ministers supporting Muhyiddin, says Puad

PETALING JAYA: Umno Cabinet ministers were prioritising their self-interests when they decided to continue supporting Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister, says party Supreme Council member Puad Zarkashi.

Puad said ministers and deputy ministers from Umno should not make decisions that contradicted those of the party, which withdrew its support for Muhyiddin a week ago.

He told FMT the latest development had revealed the true colours of those involved.

“They cannot claim to prioritise the rakyat because Umno’s stance was made to protect the people, a result of the prime minister’s failure in managing the economy and pandemic.
