My VCF file is too large to open — how can I split it safely?

I exported all my phone contacts into one big VCF file, but it’s too large, and now it won’t open on my phone or email client. I just need a simple way to divide it into smaller files without losing contact data. Does anyone know a safe tool or method for this?
