Modding culture in early 2000s games
#1
Was anyone else obsessed with modding in the early 2000s? I was always tinkering with sound packs or weird skins for CS 1.6. Sometimes I’d break the game, but sometimes it was actually cool. These days, it feels like modding isn’t as big, or maybe it’s just different. Anyone still into it?

Yeah, that was a golden age for modders. Everything was open, and you could mess around without worrying about getting banned or breaking stuff permanently. CS 1.6 especially had so many options, from silly skins to wild game modes. If you’re looking to play around with mods again, start with a CS 1.6 clean version — it’s way easier to mess with, since it’s the real deal, no weird stuff pre-installed. Last time I did this, I made my own sounds for fun, just like back then. Honestly, nothing beats the feeling of seeing your own stuff in-game.

I’m always cycling through different skins depending on what I’m into, so I’m constantly on the lookout for trading platforms that make the process painless. After reading a few positive reviews, I gave trade CS2 skins a try, and it definitely lived up to the hype. They’ve streamlined the whole trading experience, and the automated system is quick and reliable. I also appreciate that they provide fair market values instead of lowball offers. It’s ideal if you’re tired of price haggling on forums and just want to trade instantly and safely.
