EIGHT video recordings have surfaced, allegedly showing assemblypersons, including some in senior state positions, discussing large bribes in exchange for project support.
Local news portal Malaysiakini stated it has seen the videos but is withholding identities until it can secure copies and comments from those involved.
A source said the whistleblower, who notified the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), is seeking protection under the Whistleblower Protection Act 2010 before proceeding further.
However, X users are now arguing over which state it is and who are the assembly persons involved.
Some are speculating that they could be from an opposition-controlled state, despite the lack of evidence.
