PKR man hits out at Azmin for taking a break from politics
PETALING JAYA: PKR deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin has called out Azmin Ali for wanting to take a break from politics, reminding the latter that he still has a duty to serve his constituents in Bukit Antarabangsa.
While Bersatu Supreme Council member Azmin failed to defend his Gombak parliamentary seat in the last general election (GE15), he remains the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman, a Selangor state seat he won at the 14th general election (GE14) in May 2018.
“As an elected representative, the decision to rest can only be made when deciding not to contest in an election,” Razeef said in a statement.
“As long as he (Azmin) is an elected representative, it is his duty to continue serving the people until the end of his term.”While Bersatu Supreme Council member Azmin failed to defend his Gombak parliamentary seat in the last general election (GE15), he remains the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman, a Selangor state seat he won at the 14th general election (GE14) in May 2018.
“As an elected representative, the decision to rest can only be made when deciding not to contest in an election,” Razeef said in a statement.
Calling Azmin’s announcement “irresponsible”, Razeef said the former international trade and industry minister would surely continue to receive his allowance as an assemblyman despite taking a break from politics.
