So, I have decided to enjoy this trip next week I am so happy about this trip. Before I go there I want to ask if can you share which things will be best to enjoy there. Waiting for your response.

Do you have any information about new years eve trips?

Make next year’s Bumiputera economic congress the last
Posted by: superadmin - 12-08-2023, 08:35 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

Ex-MCA veep: Make next year’s Bumiputera economic congress the last for it’s a platform for graft, self-enrichment
[Image: 2165805.jpg]

ONE wonders if politicians do play a more effective role when they assume the role as opposition members than when they run the country.

A case in point is when DAP is perceived to be more toothless in the realm of the unity government, MCA – the fading star within the Chinese community – has risen to fill the void.

A pertinent example of this is when the latter’s former vice-president Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker boldly called for the Bumiputera Economic Congress scheduled in January 2024 to be scrapped.

The former deputy youth and sports minister that while the Bumiputera economic congress has been in existence for over five decades, it has failed to produce the desired results. Instead, it has become a platform for the greedy to enrich themselves at the expense of the commoners, especially the Malays.

“The congress started when I was three years old. Today, I am over 60 years old. I hope that the coming Bumiputera economic congress will be the last – and that in the future – we can hold a national economic congress,” he articulated in fluent Malay when debating Budget 2024 in the Dewan Negara recently (video of Ti’s debate has since been viralled).

Wider US division on aid to Ukraine, Israel amid partisan struggles before election
Posted by: superadmin - 12-07-2023, 11:26 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

The US is entangled in deepened partisan divisions as it is running out of aid for Ukraine while facing growing international pressure on the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip after Israel renewed its offensive. Some experts said on Wednesday that as both wars continue, those crises will not only become a heavy financial burden on Washington but also serve as a tool for partisan struggles as the elections loom.

A classified briefing for senators on the White House's request for aid for Israel and Ukraine became "heated" on Tuesday local time, with Republican members storming out of the meeting, NBC News reported.

The briefing, led by the secretaries of defense and state, as well as the director of national intelligence and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was held behind closed doors to allow all 100 senators to ask questions about the administration's funding request, according to the reports.

But it fell apart, senators from both parties said, after Republicans began asking about the US border. GOP members in both chambers have demanded serious changes to immigration policy to address rising migrant crossings in exchange for passing new aid for Ukraine, NBC News reported.

White House officials warned on Monday that the US is running out of time and money to help Ukraine, after the Biden administration urged Congress to approve the nearly $106 billion request for funds in October, with Chinese experts believing that this shows that the Ukraine issue has become a tool for domestic politicization in the US, and internal divisions in the country have intensified as the election approaches.

In a letter to House and Senate leaders and released publicly, Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young warned the US will run out of funding to send weapons and assistance to Ukraine by the end of this year, adding that this would "kneecap" Ukraine on the battlefield, the AP reported on Tuesday.

According to Reuters, US President Joe Biden's administration in October asked Congress for nearly $106 billion request for funds for the wars in Ukraine, Israel and other security needs, but Republicans who control the House with a slim majority rejected the package.

Dr Steinbock: Anwar’s administration offers vital lessons to the West, Global South
Posted by: superadmin - 12-07-2023, 11:13 AM - Forum: Politics - No Replies

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s efforts at inclusive growth offer important lessons to the West and the rest of the Global South alike, says an internationally recognised strategist of the multipolar world.

Difference Group Ltd founder Dr Dan Steinbock observed that Anwar has often talked about his vision for Malaysia, suggesting the country could emerge as “a great economic working model for a pluralistic society, through peace, compassion, and harmony”.

Difference Group Ltd helps governments, companies and organisations in both the West and the Global South to navigate in the multipolar world economy.

He was responding to Bernama via email on his views related to Anwar’s leadership at home and abroad as his Madani government will be celebrating its first year at the end of this week.

Anwar was sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th Prime Minister on Nov 24, 2022.

Steinbock further said that the positive reaction of the financial markets to the Madani government reflects the perception that the new unity is seen as a stabilising force.
