PETALING JAYA: Lim Guan Eng has challenged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to probe Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly offering Tebrau MP Steven Choong an official position in return for supporting the Perikatan Nasional government.
The DAP secretary-general questioned if the anti-graft agency would “demonstrate its independence” by probing Muhyiddin, adding that MACC should at least state that party-hopping in exchange for favours was a corrupt practice.
He said Choong’s revelation was reminiscent of an audio recording released last year purportedly of Muhyiddin offering government posts and positions in exchange for support.
“Umno’s Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah also revealed that he rejected an offer by the prime minister to be Petronas’ chairman because it was unconstitutional.
