Anwar’s meeting with PAS’s Nik Abduh in Kelantan sparks speculation

IT is widely reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with the two sons of bereaved PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat, Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz and Nik Omar Nik Abdul Aziz  in Kelantan yesterday (May 12), while pictures circulated on social media got tongues wagging.

Netizens are either praising Anwar for uniting two brothers who were at odds on the political alignment in the country or they are saying Nik Abduh is joining the Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) alliance.

A popular face on social media (Facebook and Twitter) Najib Bakar wrote, “Previously, Nik Abduh and Nik Omar were at odds with each other due to political factions in PAS Kelantan who wanted to eliminate the legacy of  Nik Aziz. Now, the two siblings have been reunited through the efforts of PMX Anwar Ibrahim and Ustaz Herjunot Ali. Thank God!”
