“Abah wave” to be bigger than reformasi movement 25 years ago, claims PAS

PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Haji Takiyuddin Hassan has predicted that the wave of people who opposed the “cruelty” committed against Perikatan Nasional (PN) president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be significantly bigger than the “reformasi” movement 25 years ago.

Dubbed the “Abah wave”, the Kota Bahru MP said the charges against Muhyiddin will incur the rakyat’s wrath which will be seen in the upcoming state elections in six states.

“I think the prosecution of Muhyiddin today will increase the people’s support for PN because they know what’s happening.

“And this will show in the upcoming state elections. If there are parties who used ‘reformasi’ to gather support, this is bigger than that – that much I can say. We will stand by Muhyiddin,” Takiyuddin was reported as saying to reporters at the Kuala Lumpur court complex.
