KL Tower Scandal – Selling A Cash Cow That Generates RM20 Million For Just RM3.8 M

Muhyiddin Yassin has been extremely silent – even worried – since the first sitting of the 15th Parliament beginning December 19. The former backdoor prime minister obviously has a bigger problem than trying to seize power through yet another political coup. He knew the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia – Anwar Ibrahim – would win the vote of confidence in the Parliament.

It was Muhyiddin himself who bragged in April 2021 that the Perikatan Nasional backdoor government under his leadership has splashed more than RM600 billion (RM340 billion in economic stimulus packages and RM322.5 billion for the 2021 Budget to fight the Covid-19 pandemic). He thought his decision to declare a State of Emergency means he could plunder public funds without consequences.

Of course, he had never imagined that opposition Pakatan Harapan would return to power after he betrayed the coalition in Feb 2020. Not only Pakatan Harapan leader Anwar easily won his legitimacy in the Parliament via the confidence vote, he has done so with two-thirds majority. Essentially, this means all of Mahiaddin’s (Muhyiddin) lies and corruptions would be exposed.

“Ismail Sabri approved Menara KL concession to Hydroshoppe after due consideration”

ALLEGATIONS that there is an unseen hand in the granting of Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower) concession without abiding by procedures and regulations are untrue.

Political and government policy analyst Datuk Saiful Bahar Mohd Arshad said the Communications and Multimedia Ministry and the Public Private Partnership Unit in the Prime Minister’s Department (UKAS) have abided strictly to the selection of little-known Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd to operate and maintain the KL Tower.

“UKAS has brought the approval paper for the concession to operate and maintain Menara Kuala Lumpur by Hydroshoppe (successful bidder) to (then economic minister) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and then prime minister (PM) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (for their perusal),” Saiful wrote in a commentary for Malay news portal Suara Merdeka.

Iconic Menara Kuala Lumpur deal stinks to high heaven!

THE Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower) was an iconic self-made landmark achievement for Malaysia – literally and figuratively – when it was opened to the public in 1996.
It signalled worldwide Malaysia’s relentless roaring march – from a backward third world nation – to be among the top elite nations of the world. It gave confidence that achievement of Vision 2020 would be a push-over, just a matter of bidding time. Interestingly, both the KL Tower and Vision 2020 was launched in 1991.

Yet as we enter 2023, our country is mired in controversies: a divided and in-fighting citizenry, religious and racial hatred and intolerance, economy and finance in the doldrums, mainly spurred by mega corruption and unbridled abuse of power.

Yes, again self-made. Looking at every global indicator of progress, we seem to be plunging free-fall from the top of the tower into the abyss of despised least developed countries.
