Race, religion should not be factor in establishing govt, says Johari

PETALING JAYA: Race and religion should not be a factor when it comes to forming a government, Umno Supreme Council member Johari Ghani said.

The newly-elected Titiwangsa MP said narrow-mindedness should not exist in a Malaysia that has been in existence for 59 years.

Johari said that Barisan Nasional has always celebrated diversity, even from the time it was known as the Alliance. Throughout its 61 years in power, the coalition has administered the country based on a multicultural, multireligious platform, he added.
