KUALA LUMPUR: Penang Umno will lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over allegations that some 250 individuals had received over RM700 million in 1MDB monies.
The party’s deputy chief Shaikh Hussein Mydin said the report would be lodged at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters at 11am tomorrow.
“A majority of those who are said to have received the funds have yet to be investigated, nor has any action been taken against them despite the money trail and evidence.
“This is rather one-sided and unfair on the part of the authorities,” he said at the party’s headquarters here.
Hussein also urged the authorities to find out whether anyone with “vested interest” from the Pakatan Harapan state government had interfered in the matter.
