KUALA SELANGOR – The government is optimistic that the economy in the third quarter of this year will show stronger growth based on current positive economic indicators.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said economic growth was in line with the unemployment rate, which was recorded at 3.7% in July, compared to 3.8% previously.

He said the rate was also better than the unemployment rate during the pandemic which was around 5.3% in May 2020.

“This shows a good trend, in line with economic growth, which is still showing positive growth.

“The gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2022 showed excellent growth compared to the previous projection of 8.9%,” he told the media after launching Karnival Gegar Kerjaya 2022 here today.
