PETALING JAYA: An academic has advised opposition supporters against reading too much into the absence of PKR leaders at Muda’s launch last week.

Asked if it meant that PKR could one day withdraw from Pakatan Harapan, Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid of Universiti Sains Malaysia said such an assumption would be premature.

“PKR is like the engine of PH. Without PKR, PH’s claim to being a broad-based national coalition loses justification,” he told FMT.

Muda’s official unveiling in Kuala Lumpur was attended by top leaders from DAP, Amanah and Warisan and even representatives from the yet-to-be registered Parti Aspirasi Sains Malaysia.
