KOTA KINABALU – Warisan has rubbished claims that it is plotting with Umno to remove the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition as Sabah’s government.

Party information chief Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah Awang Sahari stressed in a statement today that Warisan has never negotiated or discussed collaborating with any party, including Umno.

“Warisan is an opposition party focused on fighting for the interests of the people in Sabah and Malaysia. We put the government’s function on the right track, ensure that Malaysia Agreement 1963’s claims are fulfilled, and eradicate corruption.

“Warisan is committed to these fights and will work hard so that the people understand and support us,” he said.

Awang said that there have been recent claims by bloggers and political analysts that the party is planning to work with Umno to oust the current GRS Sabah government.

GRS, which comprises Perikatan Nasional, Barisan Nasional, and Parti Bersatu Sabah, now seems to have a fragile relationship, after Sabah Umno chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said that the party is likely to go against Bersatu for federal seats in the next general election.

Bung said he will follow the decision of central Umno, which went against Bersatu in the Melaka election in November. – The Vibes, December 25, 2021.
