Kit Siang slams ‘simpleton’ Puad, says he’s open to RCI on Zeti

PETALING JAYA: Lim Kit Siang has hit back at an Umno Supreme Council member for labelling him a “hypocrite” over the DAP supremo’s supposed selective calls in pushing for a royal commission of inquiry (RCI).

In a strongly worded statement, the DAP supremo called Puad Zarkarshi a “national fraud” and a “simpleton” for making baseless allegations.

Earlier today, Puad called Lim the “most hypocritical politician” for being silent on calls for an RCI into other matters, including on former Bank Negara Malaysia governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz and former minister Nor Mohamed Yakcop’s role in the 1MDB scandal.

But Lim said he had no objection to any RCI into the role of Zeti and Nor Mohamed in the 1MDB scandal.

He also asked whether Puad would agree to an RCI being set up to look into the 1MDB scandal to uncover the attempted cover-up of the wrongdoing, which Lim claimed Puad was part of.
