PETALING JAYA: Negotiations between PAS and Umno under its Muafakat Nasional (MN) pact will face challenges in the near future if some party leaders want to act like a “big brother”, says PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
The Terengganu menteri besar said such an attitude would hinder PAS’ efforts and greater goal of establishing political cooperation among all Malay-Muslim parties in the nation.
“If there is a ‘big brother’, then it will be tough. PAS adopts an open attitude because our bigger objective is to foster political cooperation among all Malay-Muslim parties,” he said, according to Utusan Malaysia.
Nonetheless, Samsuri said PAS would continue its efforts to bring together both Umno and Bersatu under a form of political cooperation through negotiations.
