We can’t force PAS to work with us, says BN man

PETALING JAYA: Umno should not force PAS into cooperating with it if the Islamist party does not want to, says a Barisan Nasional (BN) leader.

“We can’t force them to work with us, the same way that they cannot tell us to work with anyone,” Selangor BN information chief Isham Jalil said in a Facebook post.

“If PAS wants to continue working with Bersatu in Perikatan Nasional (PN) for the next general election, that’s their choice and we won’t stop them.”

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang recently rejected an “incomplete” Muafakat Nasional (MN), the pact forged between Umno and PAS in the aftermath of the 14th general election.
