PETALING JAYA: The is no need to appoint the two Perikatan Nasional (PN) assemblymen as state excos in the Melaka government, Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan said today.

He added that this was especially with BN having obtained a two-thirds majority in the recent Melaka state election, Utusan Malaysia reported.

“If we didn’t contest together then why do we need to ‘eat together’, especially after we achieved this victory on our own?” he told reporters after attending an event in Seremban.

“If we were short of seats then it might be necessary but we have more than enough representatives among us to be appointed as state excos.

“For me there is no need. If this is brought up to the party leadership, I will question such a need because I am a senior leader of the party.
