After Melaka loss, Muhyiddin says PN will fight on

AYER KEROH: A defiant Muhyiddin Yassin says Perikatan Nasional (PN) will continue to be Barisan Nasional’s (BN) main challenger despite his coalition’s heavy defeat in the Melaka state election.

At a press conference, Muhyiddin also rebuffed a call by Umno’s Lokman Adam who had asked him to dissolve Bersatu and rejoin Umno.

“Thank you for the invite but we have charted our path based on our values and principles.”

Muhyiddin said the coalition was ready to face the upcoming general election adding that it was not a problem.

On whether the Melaka election would affect PN’s cooperation with BN, Muhyiddin said the cooperation at the federal level took place before the polls and that the priority was still to help the people and the country recover from the pandemic.
