Video games 'good for well-being' says University of Oxford study
#21
Hi,
This study by the Oxford Internet Institute is quite interesting because it challenges the negative perception around video games. By analyzing real playtime data from Animal Crossing and Plants vs Zombies, researchers were able to link gaming with improved happiness and well-being. Unlike earlier studies that relied on self-reported estimates, this research used actual gameplay logs, making the results more accurate and reliable. With over 3,000 participants, the findings highlight that spending time in engaging, interactive environments can have positive mental health effects. It shows that gaming, when balanced, may not be harmful but rather beneficial for stress relief and social connection
