Muda allowed to challenge govt’s refusal to register party

KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has allowed Muda, a party formed by former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, to proceed with a judicial review against the government’s refusal to register it as a political party.

Judge Noorin Badaruddin granted the leave application in her chambers today.

The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC), representing the Registrar of Societies (RoS) and home minister Hamzah Zainudin, did not raise any objection against Muda’s application.

The court set Oct 5 for further case management.
