PM could be a pawn to too many parties, interests, warns Kadir Jasin

PETALING JAYA: Veteran newsman A Kadir Jasin has warned that Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob could become a pawn to too many parties and interests due to his indebtedness to them for their support.

In a Facebook post, Kadir pointed out that Ismail could not completely ignore the “court cluster” and “kleptocrats” from his party, Umno, as they were the ones who helped overthrow former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin and supported him instead.

“Therefore, I hope rumours of former prime minister Najib Razak coming back into the government is just part of some propaganda by the ‘court cluster’ and ‘Bossku’ gang to test where Ismail stands.

“This will be Ismail’s dilemma. If he succumbs to the pressure of the ‘court cluster’ and the ‘kleptocrats’, he will be nothing more than a servant and will be challenged,” he said.

He added that Muhyiddin’s rejection of these two groups of Umno leaders from returning to power deserved recognition despite he losing their support to lead the country.
