Tajuddin out as Umno elections director, Tok Mat takes over

PETALING JAYA: Umno has announced the appointment of Mohamad Hasan as the party’s new elections director, taking over from Tajuddin Abdul Rahman with immediate effect.

In a statement, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the appointment of his deputy, who is the Barisan Nasional war room chief, is aimed at strengthening the organisation of the party’s election machinery at every level.

He said Mohamad’s position as the Barisan Nasional deputy chairman will smoothen the decision-making process where election preparations were concerned.

“Umno would like to thank Tajuddin who had served as elections director.”
