KUALA LUMPUR: A joint statement by component parties in Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional welcoming the Dewan Rakyat sitting but cautioning it from being used for any personal agenda, saw the conspicuous absence of Umno from the list.

The joint statement, signed by the information chiefs of all the parties, welcomed the government’s announcement that all emergency ordinances and the national recovery plan would be tabled at a special Dewan Rakyat sitting for five days from July 26.

“We hope that this special session will be used as a platform to discuss issues related to the people’s interests, and not be misused for personal gain,” the statement said.

The statement was jointly issued by Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan and his counterparts Kamaruzaman Mohamad (PAS); Chin Vui Kai (SAPP); Jeffrey Kumin (STAR); Koo Shiaw Lee (Gerakan), V Gunalan (MIC); and Chan Quin Er (MCA).

PBRS was represented by its information chief Khairin Bador while the others were Yong Li Na (PDP); Julita Majungki (PBS); Idris Buang (PPBB); Wilfred Nissom (PRS); and Adam Yii (SUPP).
