No one is bigger than Umno, says Tok Mat after party states stand

PETALING JAYA: Following Umno’s decision to retract support for Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister, its deputy president, Mohamad Hasan, says no individual is bigger and more important than the party.

“Umno’s stand must be based on the aspirations of the people and solely for the people,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Mohamad stressed that a clear stand is important for a political party, adding that “without a stand, Umno is just a registered party”.

He assured party members that Umno’s stand would not deviate from the priorities of the people, country and party.

“It is definitely in line with the decision of the general assembly,” Umno’s No. 2, better known as Tok Mat, said.
