You have 14 days to reconvene Parliament… or else, Zahid tells PN

PETALING JAYA: Umno has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Perikatan Nasional-led government to follow the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s advice on reconvening Parliament.

In a statement, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the 14 days starts from today.

“Umno takes a firm stand in urging the government to respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Malay Rulers in calling for Parliament to sit as soon as possible, he said.

He said failure to do so by PN would be a sign of great disrespect to the Rulers.

The Bagan Datuk MP added the Umno Supreme Council will meet soon to decide on the next move.

Last week, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said he wants  Parliament to reconvene as soon as possible.
