GPON fiber-optic network, responsible for managing and distributing data between the service provider's core network and multiple Optical Network Units (ONUs) or Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) at customer premises.
The OLT converts electrical signals from the provider's network into optical signals, which are transmitted through fiber-optic cables using passive splitters to reach multiple ONUs/ONTs. It also receives optical signals from the ONUs, converting them back into electrical signals for upstream communication. GPON OLTs support high-speed broadband services, including internet, VoIP, IPTV, and enterprise connectivity, using a time-division multiplexing (TDM) and time-division multiple access (TDMA) scheme to efficiently share bandwidth among users.
