How to Safely Shrink a 20GB+ PST Without Data Loss?
#1
I am dealing with an oversized PST file that has crossed 20GB and is now causing slow Outlook performance and frequent lag during mailbox operations. I want to reduce the size of this PST safely without risking any data loss. I have already tried basic cleanup like deleting unnecessary emails, but the PST size has not reduced much even after emptying the Deleted Items. Can anyone guide me on the safest and most effective methods to shrink or compress a 20GB+ PST file? Also, if there are any reliable tools or manual steps to compact the PST without corrupting it, please share your suggestions.

If your PST file has grown to over 20GB & Outlook is frequently lagging, freezing, or crashing, don't worry. Manually compacting a large PST is not only time-consuming but also poses the risk of data loss if missteps are made. In such a situation, you can use DataVare PST Compact Expert or a similar reliable tool. It safely shrinks even the largest PSTs while maintaining the folder structure & data integrity.

Its main advantages
  • Safely shrink even 20GB–50GB+ PSTs
  • No data loss, emails, attachments, contacts, calendars all safe
  • Fast processing & easy interface
  • Various options for compacting each PST
  • Outlook installation is not required (depending on the tool)
If you're also struggling to manage a large PST, professional tools like these can safely compact your file & get Outlook running smoothly again.
