Looking for advice on choosing sparring gloves
#1
Lightbulb
Hi everyone, I’ve recently started sparring in my boxing training and realized that the gloves I currently use aren’t really designed for that. I want to get a pair of proper sparring gloves, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the options. What should I look for when picking sparring gloves in terms of padding, wrist support, weight, and durability?

Hi, I can try to help you with that. Choosing the right gear for sparring can feel confusing at first, but a few details usually make the decision much easier.

When you start comparing different options, it helps to focus on how the padding reacts during real impact, since good protection makes a big difference in longer sessions. Many people mention sparring gloves in this context because they usually provide a better mix of cushioning and wrist stability than standard training models. The main thing is to find a pair that feels balanced, fits securely around the wrist, and does not limit your movement while still offering enough support. Once you check these details, choosing the right gear becomes much easier.
