Leaked documents plot to damage ties with Umno, says PAS leader
KUALA LUMPUR: A leaked document purportedly from a PAS meeting, which allegedly mentioned a plot to topple and disrupt Umno and Barisan Nasional, is an attempt to drive a wedge between two parties that enjoy a healthy camaraderie, says a PAS leader.
“We see this as nothing more than a pathetic attempt to slander PAS, and to damage the relationship and camaraderie between the two parties by an irresponsible individual,” PAS central committee member Awang Hashim told FMT.
“I would like to deny the authenticity of the documents. And I would also like to clarify once and for all that there is no such plot taking place. It’s an outright fake and wild allegation.”
The leaked documents are believed to be minutes of a PAS meeting, which include a plan to expedite the sentences of Umno leaders who are either on trial or have been convicted on charges such as criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering.
