Sheraton Move cut short plans to reform Parliament, says ex-speaker

KUALA LUMPUR: Putting a stop to unruly MPs from both sides of the political divide in Parliament was among the main reforms former Dewan Rakyat speaker Ariff Md Yusof had wanted to push through during his term, but the Sheraton Move put paid to it.

Recalling his experience as the speaker when Pakatan Harapan (PH) formed the federal government, Ariff lamented the unruly attitude of MPs, which he had wanted to put a stop to, so that debates could be carried out in a civil manner.
