Why are SMS event reminders more effective than traditional email reminders?

I’ve noticed the same increase too, especially with my teenage cousins. They barely make phone calls anymore—it's all text messaging all day. Even at family gatherings, they’re glued to their phones, chatting with friends instead of talking to people right in front of them. It feels like face-to-face social skills are dropping fast because everything is done through text.
