Where has the RM5bil for vaccines gone to, Najib asks govt

PETALING JAYA: The government must explain what has happened to the RM5 billion allocated to purchase Covid-19 vaccines for Malaysians before using the National Trust Fund (KWAN) for the purpose, says Najib Razak.

The former prime minister said not only had Parliament approved RM3 billion in the 2021 budget for vaccine purchase, but a supplementary amount of RM2 billion was also allocated later.

“The Perikatan Nasional government does not want to answer the pertinent question on why we need to touch our trust fund for this purpose.

“The government has borrowed RM85 billion and has been selling various assets of the country for the last four months,” Najib said on his Facebook.
