What is the difference between mass and weight?
#1
Mass and weight are often confused, but they are distinct concepts in physics. Mass refers to the amount of matter in an object, measured in kilograms or grams. On the other hand, weight is the force exerted on an object due to gravity, measured in newtons or pounds. While mass remains constant regardless of the gravitational field, weight varies depending on the strength of gravity. So, in essence, mass vs weight highlights the disparity between the amount of matter an object contains and the gravitational force it experiences.
